Every summer, the Big Boys (BB) treat us peons to a (well-deserved) meal at the Club, in recognition of our sweat and toil, and also to bid adieu to our departing colleagues. Last summer, we congregated at the Club by Quincy Street. I thought that this was the only location, but upon further initiation into the Organization, I also had brunch at another secret club hideout on the 38th floor of a Federal Street building (amazing views), and I also know of another hideout on Commonwealth Avenue. Anyhoos, I will be re-hashing what I had last summer because the next club gathering is going to take place soon. 

The menu:

Soup du Jour
Silky Sweet Corn Soup avocado, roasted red pepper, chive oil

Smooth, tasty soup. Probably the best course.

Vine Ripened Tomato Salad Boston bibb lettuce, fresh mozzarella, basil, balsamic vinaigrette

This is a good salad, but pretty forgettable.

Pepper Seared Chicken Breast w/wild mushroom broth, Seasonal Vegetables, Dauphinois Potatoes

The mushroom broth was great, but the chicken was kinda dry. Potato Dauphinois was ok.

Flourless Chocolate Amaretto Torte, toasted coconut crème anglaise and chocolate

Kinda bleah.

Total cost per person? $59.99 + $19 for wine-paring

Would I come back to bring the folks when they are in town? Although the ambience was really warm and the waiters seem very nice, the food and the prices are no-brainer. The current menu is different, so we'll see if the execution has improved?
